Wilderness 80 - The Range
"Nature doesn't do ordinary. Neither do we."
Wilderness 80 is our most ambitious range yet – grain free dry food built around one simple idea: get as close to what a dog would naturally eat as a bag of kibble can get. Every recipe is 80% total animal ingredients, with at least half of that freshly prepared, not dried and reconstituted from a powder.
Why 80% actually matters
Most dry dog food leans heavily on plant proteins and fillers to bulk things out cheaply. Wilderness 80 doesn't. Across the whole range, 80% of every recipe is animal ingredients – among the highest total-animal content you'll find in a dry food, dry or otherwise. The other 20% is a thoughtful mix of sweet potato, vegetables, and functional extras like linseed and a joint care blend, not grain-based bulking agents.
Grain free, and why we lean into it
None of the Wilderness 80 recipes contain grain. For dogs with sensitive tummies or known grain sensitivities, that can make a real difference to comfort and digestion – and even for dogs without any issues, it means every gram of carbohydrate in the bowl is doing something useful (sweet potato brings B vitamins along with its energy, rather than just bulking things out).
Built-in gut support
Every recipe includes prebiotics – MOS (mannan-oligosaccharides) and FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides). These aren't digested by the dog directly; instead they feed the beneficial bacteria living in the gut. Research on dogs specifically (not just extrapolated from other species) has shown FOS and MOS supplementation can shift gut microbial populations in a positive direction and support immune function, particularly useful for young, senior, or stressed dogs1.
Rich in omega fatty acids
Fish-based recipes in the range (Salmon, and the fish component in Chicken) bring naturally occurring omega-3s to the table. Omega-3 fatty acids are well established in veterinary nutrition literature as supporting skin and coat condition, joint comfort, and general anti-inflammatory processes in dogs2. It's not a cure-all, but it's a genuinely useful nutrient to have working in the background of your dog's daily diet.
The recipes
Three recipes, each built the same way – 80% animal ingredients, grain free, prebiotic-supported – with a different protein story to tell.
Salmon, Herring, Haddock & Trout
Four types of fish in one recipe, led by freshly prepared Scottish salmon. Naturally rich in omega-3s, and a strong option if you're specifically looking for a fish-forward diet.
Chicken, Turkey, White Fish & Salmon
Freshly prepared chicken leads the way, backed up by turkey, white fish and a touch of salmon. A well-rounded, everyday option for dogs that do well on poultry.
Duck, Pork, Turkey & Beef
Freshly prepared duck takes the lead here, with pork, turkey and Aberdeen Angus beef rounding it out. A good choice if you're looking for something different to the usual chicken or fish-based diets.
